Ganja Karuppu (real name Ravindran) is a veteran Tamil film comedian and character actor born on 4 April 1973 in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu. He has appeared in well over 150 Tamil films since the 1990s, establishing himself as one of the most recognisable faces in Tamil comedy cinema. He is known for his earthy humour, impeccable comic timing, and the warmth he brings to supporting roles. His best-known film credits include Subramaniapuram (2008), Mankatha (2011, alongside Ajith), Irumugan (2016, alongside Vikram), Saamy Square (2018, alongside Vikram), and numerous other Tamil mainstream productions. He has collaborated with virtually every major Tamil star across his career. In June 2017, he entered Bigg Boss Tamil Season 1 as one of the original contestants and was evicted in Week 2 after 13 days, finishing 17th overall.
