Mathumitha Raghunathan is an Indian-origin fashion designer, model, and IT consultant based in Germany. Born of Sri Lankan Tamil heritage, she grew up in Germany and pursued a fashion design course in Australia before returning to Germany, where she works in a software company. She has also been active as a model. A self-declared fan of the international Big Brother format, she entered Bigg Boss Tamil Season 5 on 3 October 2021 as the third contestant introduced by host Kamal Haasan. In a widely noted moment, she presented Kamal Haasan with a handmade embroidered tie she had crafted herself as a gift on entry. She was the only contestant of the season with a Germany-based background and Sri Lankan Tamil roots, making her journey a distinctive one on the show. She was eliminated in Week 6 (Day 41), finishing sixteenth.
