Bio
Namitha Marimuthu is an Indian transgender model, actress, social activist, and pageant founder born on 23 February 1989 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, to Marimuthu and Vennila Devi. She completed her schooling at Gill Adarsh Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Chennai, and her graduation in Engineering from Saint Peter's College of Engineering and Technology. Namitha transitioned at a young age and, with her family's support, entered the modelling industry. She won the Miss Kuvagam title, was named brand ambassador of Miss Trans Queen India (2019), and won Miss Trans Queen India 2018. She represented India at Miss Trans Star International 2020, becoming the first Indian transgender woman to do so. At Miss Trans International 2019 in Barcelona, she won Miss Popular and Miss Public Favorite. She is the founder and CEO of Namis South Queen India (formerly Miss Trans Star India), a pageant organisation for transgender women. She has also received the Ooruni 100 Working Women Achievers Award (2019) and the Miss International Queen 2022 title. She made her acting debut as Prithika Yashini in the Tamil film Naadodigal 2 (2020), directed by Samuthirakani. In October 2021, she became the first transgender contestant on Bigg Boss Tamil, entering Season 5. She walked out of the show on Day 5 for personal reasons, finishing twentieth. She is also active as a social worker and community advocate for transgender rights.
