Silajit Majumder (Bengali: শিলাজিৎ মজুমদার), also spelled Shilajit, is an Indian Bengali singer-songwriter and actor born on 9 October 1965 in Karidhya, Birbhum, West Bengal. He grew up in Kolkata and was educated at Saint Paul K G School, Scottish Church Collegiate School, and the Scottish Church College, before graduating from Vidyasagar College, University of Calcutta, in English Literature. He launched his music career in 1994 and became one of the most distinctive voices in Bengali independent music. As an actor, he is known for his roles in Rituparno Ghosh's Asukh (1999) and Sekhar Das's Krantikaal (2005). In 2025, he won the Filmfare Awards Bangla Best Supporting Actor (shared) for Ajogyo. In 2016, he participated in Bigg Boss Bangla Season 2, finishing as the third runner-up.
