Diwakar hails from Narasipura, Karnataka, but was brought up in Madikeri, Karnataka. He worked as a salesman, travelling across the state of Karnataka to sell products. In 2017, he participated in the popular reality show Bigg Boss Kannada Season 5 as a commoner contestant and emerged as the runner-up of the season, finishing alongside winner Chandan Shetty.
