
Abhinay Vaddi is an Indian actor, table tennis coach, farmer, and entrepreneur born on 18 March 1983 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He is the grandson of Kadhal Mannan Gemini Ganesan and Nadigaiyar Thilagam Savitri - two pillars of South Indian cinema - and the son of their daughter Vijaya Chamundeswari and industrialist Govinda Rao Vaddi. Despite his film family heritage, Abhinay initially pursued sports, becoming a national-level table tennis player before transitioning to acting. He made his Tollywood debut with Young India (2010, directed by Dasari Narayana Rao) and his Tamil debut with the acclaimed biographical film Ramanujan (2014), playing the mathematical genius S. Ramanujan, a performance that earned him a SIIMA Award nomination for Best Debut Actor. He also played a villain in Venkat Prabhu's Chennai 600028 Part 2. He manages a farm in Chennai and, after relocating to Canada, became head coach at Batts Athletic in Burlington, Ontario, coaching over 200 athletes including Paralympians for Table Tennis Canada. In October 2021, he entered Bigg Boss Tamil Season 5. He was eliminated in Week 11 (Day 76), finishing eleventh. He returned for Bigg Boss Ultimate Season 1 (2022). He is married to Aparna, a fashion designer, and the couple has a daughter named Swastika.
