Baba Bhaskar is an Indian dance choreographer, film director, screenwriter, and actor born on 27 December 1973 in Hyderabad. A devoted follower of Sai Baba, he added 'Baba' to his name as an expression of his faith. He began his career as a background dancer at the remarkably young age of 9, learning the ropes of stage performance from within the industry. He subsequently trained under dance master Paulraj and later worked as an assistant to the late Shiva Shankar Master, followed by an intensive 5-year apprenticeship under renowned choreographer Master Raju Sundaram. He made his solo debut as a lead choreographer with the Telugu film Kotha Bangaru Lokam (2008), which opened the doors to the Tamil film industry. He went on to choreograph for some of the biggest names in South Indian cinema - including Rajinikanth (Thiruvilayadal Aarambam, Petta), Vijay (Velaiilla Pattadhari), Dhanush (Maari, Maari 2), Suriya, Ajith, Mahesh Babu (Kandireega), Ram Charan, and Jr. NTR - working across Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada productions. He has also served as a judge on popular dance reality shows including Dhee and Dhee Jodi. He wrote and directed the Tamil film Kuppathu Raja (2019) starring G.V. Prakash Kumar and Palak Lalwani, and made his acting debut in Chikati Gadilo Chithakotudu (2019). He has a son named Arjun. He entered Bigg Boss Telugu Season 3 in July 2019 and, widely admired for his humility, warmth, and grounded personality, finished as the second runner-up on 3 November 2019.
