Jeedigunta Varun Sandesh is an Indian-American actor born on 21 July 1989 in Rayagada, Odisha, to Vijay Saradhi Jeedigunta (a cricket statistician) and Ramani Jeedigunta. He has a younger sister, Veena Sahithi, who is a singer and lyricist. His grandfather, Jeedigunta Ramachandra Murthy, was a renowned Telugu writer who worked for All India Radio for 28 years in Hyderabad, and his uncle Jeedigunta Sridhar is a well-known Telugu TV personality. The family lived in Hyderabad for four years before relocating to Bridgewater, New Jersey, USA, where Varun completed his education. He made a sensational debut with Sekhar Kammula's Happy Days (2007) - a hugely loved campus drama set at CBIT, Hyderabad - where he played Chandrashekar 'Chandu', winning six Filmfare Awards and three Nandi Awards for Best Debutant Actor. The film became a cult classic. He went on to star in Kotha Bangaru Lokam (2008), Kurradu (2009), Yemaindi Ee Vela (2010), Maro Charitra (2010), D for Dopidi (2013), and Pandavulu Pandavulu Thummeda (2014). He is also the brand ambassador for Kalanjali stores in Andhra Pradesh. He met actress Vithika Sheru on the sets of Paddanandi Premalo Mari (2015) and the couple married on 19 August 2016 in Hyderabad. In 2019, the couple entered Bigg Boss Telugu Season 3 together - both as separate contestants - making them one of the first real-life couples to compete simultaneously in the show's history. Varun reached the grand finale, finishing fourth on 3 November 2019.
