Anoop Chandran is an Indian actor and social activist from Areeparambu, Cherthala, Alappuzha, Kerala. He grew up in Cherthala and completed his schooling at Cherthala South Government Higher Secondary School. With a passionate interest in performance but lacking formal access to training, he later completed an evening course at the School of Drama, Thrissur, which sharpened his craft. He built his film career through a series of comic and character roles in Malayalam cinema, most notably in Classmates (2006), Rasathanthram (2006), and Shakespeare M.A. Malayalam (2010). Beyond entertainment, he has been engaged in social work and activism in Kerala, and has also been associated with theatre and drama. His other film credits include Praise the Lord, Sheesham Katha Bhagam, Iru Vazhi Thiriyunnidam, and the 2018 Malayalam drama Premanajali. In June 2018, he entered Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 1. A notable early moment came in Week 2 when he was on the verge of elimination, but fellow contestant Shweta Menon's decision to forgive him for a confrontation during the captaincy task led to his being spared. He was eventually eliminated in Week 10 (Day 69), finishing tenth.
