Deepan Murali is an Indian television actor and host born on 4 April 1986 in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, to father Murali and mother Saraswathi (who passed away in 2017). He has an elder brother, Krishnakumar. He completed his schooling in Thiruvananthapuram and earned a Bachelor's degree in Animation in Filmmaking. From his school days, he participated actively in dance and drama competitions. He debuted on television with the Telugu serial Sasirekha Parinayam on MAA TV in 2013 before building his reputation in the Malayalam television industry through serials including Nirakoottu, Ival Yamuna, Parinayam, Sthreedhanam, and Seetha - through the latter two he rose to a household name in Kerala. He made his Malayalam film debut in Sooraiyadal (2014) and has continued in both film and television. He also worked as an anchor, hosting the talent hunt show Ugram Ujwalam and an Easter special programme featuring small-screen celebrities. In June 2018, he entered Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 1 just 58 days after his wedding to his longtime college friend Maya (who works as a bank employee; married 27 April 2018). He was eliminated in Week 4 (Day 27), finishing fifteenth.
