Aristo Suresh (real name V. Suresh Thampanoor) is an Indian singer, actor, lyricist, and poet born in 1968/1969 in the Aristo junction area of Thampanoor, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. He took his stage name from his neighbourhood. His family comprises his mother, father, and five sisters. He completed his formal schooling only up to the 8th standard, and much of his creative life was self-directed - writing songs, poems, and scripts, and performing stage plays with friends at railway stations and public spaces. He was also involved in politics for a period, which delayed his entry into the film industry. His career breakthrough came through an unlikely chain of events: his friend Sreejith introduced him to actor Bobby Mohan, who was impressed enough by Suresh's folk songs to give him a chance to sing and act in the action film Action Hero Biju (2016), directed by Abrid Shine. The song 'Muthe Ponne Pinangallee' - entirely composed, written, and performed by him - became a social media sensation and a recurring highlight of the film, launching him to overnight popularity in Kerala at the age of around 47. He subsequently appeared as an actor in Sakhavu (2017), Udaharanam Sujatha (2017), Parole (2018), and Kenalum Kinarum, and played the role of Pillai Achan in the Asianet Onam special Avarodoppam Aliyum Achayanum. He also wrote scripts for several Malayalam films and is celebrated for his knack for composing folk rhythms and poetry on the spot. In June 2018, he entered Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 1 and was one of the most endearing personalities of the season, known for his warmth, wit, and cooking skills. He finished fifth in the grand finale on 30 September 2018.
